ANDORRA LA VELLA. Dreamland Gran Canaria couldn't secure a road victory and fell 94-78 to MoraBanc Andorra in a Liga Endesa matchup decided by the hosts' superior three-point shooting.
The Gran Canaria squad took the court with Ziga Samar in the starting lineup due to Andrew Albicy's absence from a muscle injury. The starting five was completed by Kassius Robertson, Nico Brussino, Louis Labeyrie, and Mike Tobey, looking to extend their positive momentum following a midweek European competition victory.
MoraBanc Andorra, arriving at the game with just four wins in the first half of the season, debuted with Zan Tabak on the bench. The home team started strong from beyond the arc, with three-pointers from Pons and Evans, while Robertson kept the game close early (8-7, minute 3). Andorra maintained their three-point rhythm and closed the first quarter with a lead (29-25).
In the second quarter, Dreamland Gran Canaria suffered an extended scoring drought that allowed the hosts to open up the scoreboard (37-25, minute 14). Although a deep three-pointer from Brussino stopped the run, the visitors' shooting percentages remained low. Free throws from Isaiah Wong helped cut into the deficit, and in the minutes before halftime Ziga Samar led the comeback with scoring and assists, leaving the score at 47-41 at the break.
After the restart, the game entered a back-and-forth phase. Jaka Lakovic's team steadily cut into the deficit thanks to collective effort and two consecutive 2+1 plays from Miquel Salvó, bringing the score to 55-54 midway through the third quarter. However, MoraBanc Andorra managed to maintain their advantage and entered the final period with a five-point lead (66-61).
Three-point shooting once again shaped the final quarter's outcome. Although Brussino brought the visitors closer (69-65, minute 33), consecutive plays from Evans and Udeze extended the home team's lead. Wong added points from the free-throw line, but the visitors' poor shooting from beyond the arc prevented Dreamland Gran Canaria from getting closer down the stretch. Four straight points from Aaron Best sealed the Andorran victory at 94-78.
