VITORIA. Kosner Baskonia delivered an offensive exhibition against Coviran Granada, winning decisively 121-85 to remain firmly in contention for second place in the Liga Endesa. statistics

Baskonia came out firing from the opening tip. Back-to-back three-pointers from Rodions Kurucs and Jesse Edwards' interior dominance allowed the Vitoria side to quickly build a commanding lead, reaching 14-2 early on.

Coviran Granada took several minutes to respond, but found some offensive stability thanks to the talent of Luka Bozic and Amar Alibegovic. The Balkan pair began generating advantages and capitalized on some local turnovers to temporarily cut into the deficit.

Still, Kosner Baskonia maintained control of the game thanks to its offensive pace and exceptional three-point shooting. The first quarter ended 24-14 in favor of the Vitoria side, already reflecting the difference in speed and intensity between the two teams.

The Andalusian squad closed the gap again during the second period, driven once more by Bozic and Alibegovic. Coviran Granada even got within three points thanks to much more fluid ball movement and the composure with which they approached the game.

But Baskonia accelerated again just before halftime. Tadas Sedekerskis appeared with seven consecutive points and Paolo Galbiati's squad dramatically elevated its defensive intensity to completely shift the game.

A devastating 14-0 run finished breaking the game open before the break, leaving the score at a commanding 53-34 in favor of the Vitoria side.

The second half was pure offensive onslaught from Baskonia. Trent Forrest began punishing from the start and soon after Kobi Simmons and Tim Luwawu-Cabarrot also appeared to extend the lead even further.

The blue-and-white squad was scoring with ease in transition and from beyond the arc, while Coviran Granada was unable to keep pace offensively.

The lead quickly surpassed thirty points and the game was completely decided well before the final quarter.

With the score at 85-56 entering the final period, Coviran Granada at least tried to improve the scoreline thanks to a more aggressive stretch led by Jonathan Rousselle, who was much more incisive running the offense.

However, Baskonia continued punishing from three and took advantage of numerous turnovers from the visitors to keep extending the lead until closing out the game with a spectacular 121-85.

Kobi Simmons led the Baskonia victory with 18 points and a 26 efficiency rating, accompanied by Trent Forrest and Tim Luwawu-Cabarrot in another well-rounded performance from the Vitoria squad. The three combined for 68 efficiency points. For Coviran Granada, Luka Bozic stood out again, posting a 37 efficiency rating with virtually no offensive help.

With this victory, Baskonia keeps its options alive to fight for second place in the Liga Endesa and continues arriving in great form at the decisive stretch of the season. For their part, Coviran Granada once again struggled defensively against one of the league's most explosive offenses.
