ACB: Battle for Second Place Heats Up as Relegation Zone Reaches Critical Point After Matchday 32

Matchday 32 of the Liga Endesa left the playoff seeding race and relegation battle wide open. With just two matchdays remaining in the regular season, the fight for second place remains intense between Valencia Basket, UCAM Murcia, Barcelona, and Kosner Baskonia, while the bottom of the standings faces a dramatic conclusion with several teams separated by just one win.

Real Madrid has already mathematically secured first place for several matchdays, but behind them, no one is letting up in the race to finish in the top four and secure home-court advantage in the Playoffs.

Valencia Basket survived a historic performance by Justin Jaworski to defeat Surne Bilbao Basket at La Fonteta and remain firmly in contention for second place. Pedro Martínez's team rallied after squandering a 21-point lead and ultimately prevailed thanks to the leadership of Kameron Taylor.

Kosner Baskonia also delivered, putting on one of the season's great offensive displays by crushing Coviran Granada 121-85. Paolo Galbiati's team continues to grow in this final stretch of the season and remains tied in wins with several other contenders for top positions.

Barcelona also responded with character on the always-difficult court at La Laguna Tenerife. The Blaugrana withstood the comeback attempt and secured a valuable victory led by Kevin Punter and Juani Marcos.

Meanwhile, UCAM Murcia remains very much alive in the fight despite their loss to Baskonia, in a standings that keeps the battle for second place compressed between the second and fifth-place teams.

Matchday 32 also produced several standout individual performances. Luka Bozic was named MVP after posting 24 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and a rating of 37, though his outstanding display could not prevent Coviran Granada's heavy defeat in Vitoria.

Another major protagonist was Justin Jaworski. The shooting guard for Surne Bilbao Basket exploded offensively in Valencia with 31 points and 8 three-pointers, tying the club's Liga Endesa record for three-pointers made in a single game.

Additionally, Kosner Baskonia posted another spectacular offensive mark. The 121 points scored against Coviran Granada represent the seventh-best scoring output in the history of the Vitoria club, which has already reached 130 points in another game this season.

The bottom of the standings also experienced a tense weekend. Hiopos Lleida secured mathematical safety after defeating Dreamland Gran Canaria with a decisive three-pointer by James Batemon late in the game.

For their part, Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos took a giant step toward survival by pulling off an upset at MoraBanc Andorra in a dramatic direct matchup.

All of this leaves Casademont Zaragoza, Dreamland Gran Canaria, and MoraBanc Andorra facing the final two matchdays under maximum pressure with survival still completely up in the air.

Meanwhile, the battle for the Playoffs and home-court advantage promises a spectacular finish to the regular season, with several contenders separated by minimal margins and direct matchups still to be played.
