BURGOS. Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos closed the 2025-26 season with a prestigious victory and spectacular basketball, defeating Coviran Granada 110-105 at the Coliseum. Porfi Fisac's team posted their best scoring output of the Liga Endesa season after overcoming a 13-point deficit against a already-relegated rival that made them fight for every possession. Austin Heidegger led the Burgos triumph with 22 points in a celebration night for the home crowd.
The game started with Coviran Granada playing much more accurately. The Andalusian side took the court with confidence and quickly found advantages through their ball movement and three-point shooting. Gian Clavell Costa opened the scoring and Elias Valtonen quickly made it 0-5, while Amine Noua Brimah and Bojan Bozic punished every defensive mistake from the Burgos team.
Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos tried to respond through Gonzalo Corbalán, Neto and Heidegger, but the visitors maintained control of the game thanks to their offensive fluidity and great shooting effectiveness. The most delicate moment for the home side came midway through the second quarter, when Jassel Pérez hit two consecutive three-pointers that extended the lead to 17-27. Shortly after, Thomas Rouselle increased the visitors' maximum advantage to 17-30, forcing Porfi Fisac to call a timeout.
Despite the blow, the Burgos players found a reaction before halftime. Happ, Juan Rubio and Corbalán provided energy to cut into the deficit, although Coviran Granada continued punishing from beyond the arc through Alibegovic and Valtonen, maintaining control of the game at the end of the first half.
Everything changed after halftime. Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos significantly raised their defensive intensity and began playing at a much faster pace. Happ dominated near the basket, Neto brought speed to the offense and Dani Díez appeared at key moments to fuel the comeback.
The home side gradually cut into the deficit until tying the game at 60 points. From there, the Coliseum began to believe in the comeback and the team responded on the court. Heidegger punished from three-point range and Dani Díez capped the reaction by putting Burgos ahead for the first time in many minutes (74-73).
Coviran Granada did not give up and responded with plays from Rouselle and Bozic to keep the game completely open. The back-and-forth exchange continued until the end of the third quarter, which concluded with a tight 78-77 after a free throw made by Corbalán.
In the final period came the decisive blow from the home side. Samuels opened the run and the combination between Juan Rubio and an inspired Heidegger allowed Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos to open a nine-point lead (88-79), the largest for Burgos all night.
Granada tried to stay alive thanks to Tunde and Jassel Pérez, but Neto controlled the game's pace with authority and Fischer dominated in the paint in the decisive moments. Although Alibegovic found success from three-point range to cut into the deficit, the visitors could no longer stop the home momentum.
With the game practically decided, Marcos Bella scored the basket that allowed the Burgos team to establish their best scoring output of the Liga Endesa season and close the campaign with a victory of great value in front of their fans.
Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos thus closes the season leaving a very positive image and confirming their continuity in Liga Endesa, while Coviran Granada put an end to their adventure in the top category by demonstrating competitiveness until the final game of the championship.
