LUGO. Río Breogán continues one of its best stretches of the season in the Liga Endesa after decisively defeating Bàsquet Girona 95-76 at Pazo Provincial. The team coached by Luis Casimiro secured its third consecutive victory and fifth win in the last six games thanks to another balanced performance marked by offensive rhythm and complete control of the game.
The game started with significant offensive struggles for both teams and clear inaccuracy from beyond the arc. The score advanced slowly in the opening minutes, while Bàsquet Girona tried to survive thanks to its dominance on the offensive glass.
However, the Catalan team quickly began accumulating offensive turnovers and Río Breogán capitalized on each mistake to run and find advantages in transition. The solid defensive balance of the Lugo side eventually frustrated the team coached by Moncho Fernández.
With the score at 9-6, the visiting coach was forced to call a timeout to try to solve his team's severe offensive stagnation. But the response never came.
Río Breogán's second unit completely changed the pace of the game. Dominik Mavra took control offensively and brought fluidity to the Galician team, which began opening up leads while Bàsquet Girona continued accumulating turnovers and poor shooting percentages from three-point range.
Only Livingston and Geben managed to minimally sustain the Catalan team, which reached halftime clearly behind on the scoreboard (45-31) after a first half that was very poor offensively and a concerning 4-of-19 from three-point range.

The second half didn't change the script of the game. Río Breogán continued dominating with great ease and maintained leads close to twenty points throughout the third quarter.
Dominik Mavra continued setting the pace of the game and Luis Casimiro's team found baskets with great ease against a Bàsquet Girona that was completely overwhelmed on both sides of the court. The scoreboard reflected that superiority with constant advantages for the home team (50-31, 59-41, and 69-50).
Bàsquet Girona tried to react at the start of the fourth quarter with a 0-5 run that timidly threatened the calm at Pazo. However, the Catalan team punished itself again with unforced errors at crucial moments.
Mark Hughes wasted a fast break opportunity, Geben missed an open three-pointer, and several turnovers sealed any visiting hopes of getting back into the game.
Río Breogán didn't forgive those mistakes and accelerated again to deliver the decisive run. Even another timeout from Moncho Fernández at 75-60 couldn't change the dynamics of a game completely controlled by the Galician team.
With this victory, Río Breogán confirms its excellent form in the Liga Endesa and continues delighting the Pazo with increasingly solid and balanced basketball. For its part, Bàsquet Girona delivered a very poor offensive performance and never found answers to the pace imposed by the Lugo team.
