Alessandro Pajola appears close to starting a new chapter away from Italy. According to Telesport, the Italian point guard has reached an agreement for two seasons with Partizan Belgrade, in a contract valued at 1.8 million euros total.
If the move is confirmed, Pajola would leave Virtus Bologna after ten years at the Italian club. It would also be his first professional experience outside Italy, an important step in the career of a player deeply identified with Virtus and the Italian national team.
The agreement with Partizan would be set at around 900,000 euros per season. The player had also been linked with Olimpia Milano, PAOK, and Crvena Zvezda, but the Belgrade project ultimately convinced the point guard.
Last season, Pajola averaged 4 points, 4.2 assists, and 2.7 rebounds in EuroLeague. In the Italian LBA, he elevated his numbers to 6.5 points, 4.6 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game.
With the continuity of Karlik Jones and the expected arrivals of Kyle Allman and Pajola himself, Partizan would have practically closed its point guard rotation. The Serbian club would thus add direction, defense, competitive character, and EuroLeague experience to its new project.
