Virtus Bologna appears to have found its next head coach. According to Andrea Calzoni, Alex Mumbrú is close to reaching an agreement with the Italian club, with only final details remaining to officially close the deal.
Although Virtus also held conversations with Alexander Sekulic, the final decision would be to go with the Spanish coach. President Massimo Zanetti would have given the green light to Mumbrú's arrival, who would thus face a new chapter at one of the most important clubs in European basketball.
If the agreement is confirmed, Mumbrú would return to the sidelines of club basketball after his experience leading the German national team, taking on the challenge of leading a Virtus that will compete at the highest level both in Italy and in the EuroLeague.
