American shooting guard Armoni Brooks (1.94m, Waco, Texas (USA), 05/06/1998, 28 years old) has agreed to join Valencia Basket for the 2026-27 season on loan from LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne. The player spent the last two seasons with Armani Olimpia Milan and, after signing with the French club this summer, arrives on loan in his first season with the orange club.
The player has EuroLeague experience, competing the past two seasons with Armani Olimpia Milan. In the 2025-26 season, he became one of the best shooters in Europe's top competition, ranking third in three-pointers made per game with 2.7 makes from beyond the arc per night. His EuroLeague stats were 13.1 points on 41.6% three-point shooting, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
That excellent performance also translated to the Italian league, where he dominated individually during the season and was a key piece in the treble won by the Milan team. Brooks was named MVP of the Italian Cup (19.7 points with 4 three-pointers made per game at 57.1% in the tournament), selected to the All-Star Five, best player of the regular season in the Lega (15.9 points per game with 2.7 three-pointers made at 37.7% efficiency) and MVP of the Italian league finals (15.5 points average in the four playoff final games with 3.75 three-pointers made per game at 51.7% accuracy). He left memorable shooting displays, such as the 7-of-13 three-point performance in the third quarterfinal game against Reggio Emilia.
College Career in the United States
The wing, born in Waco, Texas, began his college career at the University of Houston. Between 2016 and 2019, Armoni Brooks grew and developed as a player, becoming one of the most prominent pieces on his team, averaging 13.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1 assist in over 30 minutes per game in his third and final season. He received several honors, including selection to the All-Conference Second Team. The following year, he forewent his fourth year of eligibility to begin his professional career.
Early Professional Career in the G League and NBA
In 2019, the shooting guard signed with the Atlanta Hawks to play with their G League affiliate, the College Park Skyhawks, where he performed well with averages of 10.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1 assist in 43 games. The following season, he joined the Houston Rockets, also to play with their G League team, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
There, Armoni Brooks took a step forward, improving his numbers from the previous season to 16.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3 assists per game. In April 2021, his standout performances earned him an NBA contract with the Houston Rockets. He appeared in a total of 20 NBA games, averaging 11.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 26 minutes per game.
In the 2021-22 season, he continued with the Texas franchise, appearing in 41 games. In February 2022, he left Houston and played briefly again with the College Park Skyhawks in the G League. In March, he signed with the Toronto Raptors, with whom he appeared in 13 games through the end of the season. The 2022-23 season was spent entirely with College Park Skyhawks, finding great form in the G League with averages of 15 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2 assists in 46 games and 28 minutes per game.
In the summer of 2023, he had another NBA opportunity with the Brooklyn Nets. He appeared on the court in 10 occasions. He also competed in the G League with their affiliate, the Long Island Nets. His stats were 15.8 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists per game. In January 2024, he joined the Ontario Clippers, the G League affiliate of the Los Angeles Clippers, with whom he appeared in 28 games, averaging 15.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2 assists per game, in what was his last stop in the United States.
EuroLeague Experience
In the 2024-25 season, Armoni Brooks crossed the Atlantic for his first European experience in the top continental competition with Armani Olimpia Milan. In his first season, he had a solid debut with stats of 7.6 points on 41.3% three-point shooting and 2 rebounds in an average of 15 minutes per game. In his second season, he increased his playing time to just over 22 minutes per game and became the third player with the most three-pointers made (2.7), maintaining a very similar percentage (41.6%) in a season in which he averaged 13 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists
He already shined in his first season in the Italian league with averages of 15.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1 assist per game. Numbers that he even improved in his second season in Italian basketball, accumulating most of the individual honors with MVP of the Cup, Regular Season and Finals with overall stats of 15.9 points with 2.8 three-pointers made per game at 39.2% efficiency, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists for a rating of 13.9.
