ASVEL announced two signings on Monday within hours of each other—Mathis Dossou-Yovo in the morning and TyTy Washington in the afternoon—according to the club's social media, marking four additions in just three days following Hugo Besson and Tremont Waters.
Dossou-Yovo, France's Interior Man in Demand
The first signing addresses the paint. Mathis Dossou-Yovo, a 25-year-old French international center standing 2.08 meters, arrives after the best season of his career at Nanterre: 17.8 points and 7.3 rebounds in the Betclic Élite with notable efficiency near the basket, numbers that earned him a spot on the regular season All-Star Five. He fills the void left by Daniel Theis and will pair in the frontcourt with Joel Bolomboy, wearing number 12.
His path is that of a French basketball journeyman: developed at the Centre Fédéral, he passed through Chalon, Évreux, and Blois before breaking out at Saint-Quentin in Pro B, then moved to Oldenburg and Paris Basketball, with whom he won the French championship in 2025 and discovered EuroLeague basketball. The second signing carries more pedigree. TyTy Washington, a 24-year-old American point guard, signs his first European contract after four seasons orbiting the NBA. Developed at Kentucky, where he was among the country's best young point guards, he was selected 29th overall in the 2022 draft and accumulated 74 games between Houston, Milwaukee, Phoenix, and the Clippers, his last stop, with 16 appearances.
