LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne continues building its new project with a significant perimeter signing. The French club has announced the arrival of Nick Weiler-Babb, named EuroLeague Defensive Player of the Year 2024/25, on a two-year contract.

The American point guard-shooting guard with a German passport arrives from Anadolu Efes, where last season he averaged 7.7 points, 4.8 assists and 1.2 steals across 37 EuroLeague games. He was the Turkish team's leading player in both assists and steals, while also finishing sixth in the entire competition in steals.

Weiler-Babb, 30 years old and 1.94 meters tall, arrives in Lyon as a key piece to provide defense, leadership and experience to a team rebuilding its roster. His arrival follows that of Sylvain Francisco and is part of the club's new era under head coach Tony Parker.

Before playing at Efes, Weiler-Babb spent five seasons at Bayern Munich, where he established himself as one of the most important players in the club's recent history. With the German side, he won two Bundesligas and two Cups, including the 2024 domestic double.

His signing represents a competitive leap for ASVEL, bringing in one of Europe's best perimeter defenders and a player capable of orchestrating, competing and elevating the physical level of the backcourt.
