Barcelona Advances for Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot

FC Barcelona has positioned itself favorably to sign Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot, one of the standout wings from last season in the Liga Endesa and EuroLeague. According to Lucas Clemente, the agreement between the French player and the Blaugrana club would be complete, though the operation remains pending Baskonia's stance.

Luwawu-Cabarrot comes off playing the 2025/26 season with Baskonia, where he established himself as one of the team's major offensive references. In Liga Endesa he averaged around 18.6 points per game, with a notable 39% from three-point range, while in EuroLeague he also posted elite numbers, close to 19 points per game.

His profile fits a clear need for Barcelona: adding physicality, perimeter scoring, and the ability to create advantages from the wings. The Frenchman, moreover, comes off being a key piece for Baskonia's Copa del Rey champions, a team in which he carried significant offensive weight throughout the season.

Real Madrid had also been linked to the player, but with Pedro Martínez's arrival on the Madrid bench, they would have ultimately ruled out his signing. In this way, Barcelona gains an advantage in an operation that, if completed, would represent a major move in the ACB and EuroLeague market.

For now, the key lies with Baskonia. The agreement with the player would be on track, but the Vitoria club needs to define its position before the move can be finalized.
