The point guard, 28 years old and 6'1", will sign a two-year contract through June 30, 2028. The signing will become official once the player passes his medical review and arrives at the club from Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana.
Born in Texas on July 4, 1998, Gibson will arrive at Barcelona at 28 years old to strengthen the team's playmaking. Gibson will land at the Palau after becoming one of the standout players of the 2025/26 season in the Eurocup with Slovenian club, appearing in 20 games with averages of 15.9 points, 4.9 assists and a 17.2 rating.
Professional debut in Germany
After completing his college career at North Texas (2017-20), Oklahoma (2020-22) and DePaul (2022/23) in the United States, in the summer of 2023 he crossed the Atlantic to Germany. At BG Göttingen he made his debut during the 2023/24 season, appearing in 32 games in the Bundesliga with averages of 14.4 points, 4.9 assists and a 14.3 rating.
Two seasons in the ABA League with two different teams
His second European adventure was in Serbia with Spartak Subotica. During the 2024/25 season he averaged 9 points, 3 assists and an 8.6 rating in 26 games played in the ABA League. His best scoring performance came against KRKA, with a total of 31 points.
His time in the Adriatic League continued in the 2025/26 season in Ljubljana where he had his best game in Cedevita's colors. It came precisely against his former team, with 30 points, 5 assists and a 37 rating. Also noteworthy were the 10 assists he distributed in the matchup against KK Igokea. Overall, his numbers increased considerably, and with just one more game than the previous season, he registered 15.8 points, 5.3 assists and a 17.5 rating.
