FC Barcelona continues shaping its new project for the 2024/25 season. The Blaugrana club made official on Tuesday, June 30 the departures of Willy Hernangómez and Tomas Satoransky, two important players in recent seasons whose contracts expire at the end of the season.

Willy Hernangómez brings an end to his time at Palau Blaugrana after three seasons with Barcelona. The Madrid-born center arrived at Barcelona in the summer of 2023 from the NBA, where he had competed for seven seasons. During his time with the Catalan club, he played a total of 238 games across Liga Endesa, EuroLeague, Copa del Rey, Supercopa and Lliga Catalana.

Tomas Satoransky also concludes his second spell with the club, having returned to Barcelona in 2022 after his NBA stint. The Czech point guard, who served as team captain this past season, departs after accumulating 465 games as a Blaugrana player across both his stints. Additionally, he leaves an important statistical legacy: he is the player with the most assists in Barcelona's EuroLeague history and second with the most assists in ACB.

Both departures confirm the cycle change Barcelona Basket is undergoing, immersed in a deep squad overhaul. The club publicly thanked both players for their commitment and wished them luck in their next professional challenges.
