Barcelona continues to move in the market to strengthen the point guard position for the upcoming season. According to Javier Maestro, the Blaugrana club has initiated contact with Brandon Goodwin, recent champion of the Chinese league with Shanghai Sharks and Finals MVP.

The Blaugrana club is looking for a perimeter player who can fit into its new project and, according to Javier Maestro, one of the options that has gained traction in recent hours is Brandon Goodwin.
The American point guard just won the Chinese league championship with Shanghai Sharks, a team with which he just completed a high-impact season. Goodwin was named Finals MVP after completing a decisive series of enormous offensive level, which has put his name on the radar of the European market.
The Brandon Goodwin option emerges at a time when other targets Barcelona was considering have become complicated. Nick Weiler-Babb has an offer from Dubai and also has interest from Anadolu Efes to retain him, while David DeJulius has suffered a foot injury that will sideline him for around three months. Goodwin will turn 31 in October and stands 1.83 meters tall. Before his stint in China, he had NBA experience between 2019 and 2022, playing for the Denver Nuggets, Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks, and Cleveland Cavaliers. He subsequently played in the G League and Puerto Rico before establishing himself in the Chinese league over the last two seasons.
