SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LA LAGUNA — La Laguna Tenerife defeated Galatasaray 99-59 to secure their ticket to the Basketball Champions League (BCL) Final Four after a dominant third game, controlled from start to finish by the Canary Islands team, which settled the series before halftime and confirms the presence of two Spanish teams in the final phase.
The opening set the tone for the entire contest. La Laguna Tenerife imposed their pace from the opening minutes, punishing Galatasaray with fluid offense and solid defense that allowed them to close the first quarter with a commanding lead (28-16). From there, the home team never let up.
The decisive blow came in the second quarter. Another strong run allowed La Laguna Tenerife to extend their advantage to 46-28 by halftime, leaving Galatasaray with no chance to respond and the game completely under control by the hosts.
Far from easing up, the Canary Islands squad finished breaking open the game after the halftime break. A devastating 19-0 run to start the fourth quarter put an end to any visiting resistance, turning the final stretch into a formality until the final score of 99-59.
On an individual level, Giorgi Shermadini led La Laguna Tenerife with a dominant performance of 20 points and 14 rebounds, well supported by Jaime Fernández with 19 points and Joan Sastre with 13. For Galatasaray, Bugrahan Tuncer was the standout with 14 points, while Muhsin Yasar contributed 11.
La Laguna Tenerife, which settled the series decisively in the third game, arrives at the Final Four in great form after delivering one of their most complete performances of the season.
