Casademont Zaragoza Crowned Regular Season Champions in Intense Matchday

Matchday 28 of the Liga Femenina Endesa delivered strong emotions, with Innova-TSN Leganés' revitalizing victory led by Aminata Sangaré and key wins from Ing. Ambiental CAB Estepona and IDK Euskotren over Valencia Basket. Casademont Zaragoza stole the spotlight, clinching the regular season title after their victory at A Malata.

Only two matchdays remain in the regular season, and the objectives remain more evenly matched than ever in the standings. This latest matchday in a week that has featured three matchdays has left the fight for survival and playoff spots wide open. Meanwhile, Casademont Zaragoza becomes the regular season champions.

Innova-TSN Leganés and Club Joventut Badalona opened the matchday with a thrilling duel. Aminata Sangaré led her team back to the winning path and broke the negative streak they had been dragging since the Copa de la Reina. Javi Fort's squad snapped the winning streak of Fabian Téllez's team, who arrived in hot form after their last-second victories. Ultimately, fortune favored the home side, who are fighting to maintain their playoff position. Next, Ing. Ambiental CAB Estepona secured a solid victory over Cadí La Seu. César Aneas' squad dominated the second half of the game with a stellar Sika Koné, who added 26 points (43 rating) and Madison Conner, who continues unstoppable with 30 points.

Shortly after, IDK Euskotren sealed a valuable victory over the reigning Copa de la Reina champion, Valencia Basket. Azu Muguruza's squad, solid on defense and sharp on offense, put together a strong performance that left Rubén Burgos' team without answers. Meanwhile, Lointek Gernika Bizkaia did the same against the season's first relegated team, SPAR Gran Canaria. Lucas Fernández's squad gave the Canary Islanders no chance and surpassed the 100-point mark on the scoreboard. Emily Besoin and Laura Westerik were the standouts for the Basque squad.

On the other hand, Casademont Zaragoza suffered at A Malata against Baxi Ferrol to secure a victory that crowns them regular season champions and guarantees them a spot in the EuroLeague for next season. Saturday's matchday closed with the duel between Movistar Estudiantes and Perfumerías Avenida, a high-level encounter in which both teams displayed their enormous talent. Olmo Gómez's squad fought until the end, competing with intensity and never giving up, but ultimately ran out of time to complete the comeback against a solid Perfumerías Avenida.

Sunday was the turn of Spar Girona, who stormed the Pazo in a thrilling duel against Durán Maquinaria Ensino, which was decided in overtime. The home squad, led by Suso Garrido, imposed their style of play during several phases of the game, supported by a great performance from Maïmouna Haïdara, who scored 18 points and led her team in the most demanding moments. Still, Roberto Íñiguez's squad managed to stay ahead on the scoreboard for much of the clash, showing solidity and control of the pace. The home side pulled ahead in a great fourth quarter and came close to victory, but a basket by Jocyte forced overtime. In the extra period, Spar Girona was more accurate and took a very tight victory.

Hozono Global Jairis was in charge of closing the matchday with a solid victory over Kutxabank Araski in a game marked by the home squad's strong start. The Alcantarilla squad came out firing from the first minute and put together a dominant 15-0 run that set the tone for the game, while Made Urieta's team struggled to find their rhythm in the opening minutes. As time went on, Araski reacted and managed to get into the game, competing evenly and fighting until the end. However, the defensive solidity of Bernat Canut's squad in key moments ultimately tipped the scales in favor of the home side, who managed their lead to secure the victory.
