Collin Sexton Signs with Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers continue to make moves in the market and have completed the acquisition of Collin Sexton. According to Shams Charania, the point guard-shooting guard has reached an agreement with the Los Angeles franchise for two seasons and $19 million.

Sexton comes off playing the 2025/26 season between the Charlotte Hornets and Chicago Bulls, where he averaged 15.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Additionally, he shot a solid 48.5% from the field and a notable 40.1% from three-point range, a particularly interesting stat for a player with the ability to generate points both attacking the rim and from the perimeter.

His arrival gives the Lakers an aggressive perimeter profile, with the ability to score off the bench or assume significant minutes in the rotation. Sexton is not a pure playmaker, but rather a player who can change pace, put pressure on opposing defenses and provide points during offensive droughts.

For Los Angeles, the signing means adding energy, scoring and an outside threat at a reasonable price. A move designed to strengthen the backcourt and add more offensive resources heading into the 2026/27 season.
