According to BeBasket, the American point guard with Italian citizenship will play for the Milan-based club next season, in a move that would mark his return to Italian basketball following his stint at Brindisi. The news comes after Italian media had already linked the player to Olimpia Milano in recent weeks.
Thompson joined Valencia Basket last summer on a contract through 2028, but his future with the orange club has become increasingly uncertain as the season progressed. Now, the Italian team emerges as the destination for a player with proven EuroLeague experience and previous knowledge of the Liga Endesa, where he also excelled with Baskonia.
For Olimpia Milano, Thompson's arrival would strengthen their backcourt with a physical, competitive profile and the ability to create advantages off the dribble.
