Olimpia Milano has secured one of the major moves of its offseason. Darius Thompson will play for the Italian club next season in a deal that is now finalized and significantly strengthens the playmaking of the recent Lega champions.
According to sources confirmed by Encestando, the American point guard, currently at Valencia Basket, will sign a two-year contract with an optional third year with the Lombard club. The agreement is valued at 1.5 million euros per season.
Thompson's arrival represents a significant investment for a Milano side that wants to maintain its dominance in Italy and elevate its competitiveness in the EuroLeague. The player, with proven experience in the competition, will bring playmaking, physicality, the ability to create advantages, and knowledge of the highest level of European basketball.
After his stint at Valencia Basket, Thompson will now face a new challenge at one of the most demanding destinations on the continent, within a project that continues to move with ambition to build a top-tier roster.
