UCAM Murcia's point guard wins Player of the Day honors for the third time this season after setting a new Liga Endesa efficiency record (38) with 31 points and 11 assists, another personal best
His name is David DeJulius, he is the leader of UCAM Murcia, and in just one season he has carved out a place among the most feared players in Liga Endesa. He just completed one of the best weeks of his life with a basketball in his hands.
On Matchday 26, David earned Player of the Day honors after posting 38 efficiency points in UCAM Murcia's 107-91 victory over Coviran Granada.
The American point guard started the game hot, with 4 points, 2 assists and 7 efficiency in just over 5 minutes of the first quarter.
He then shifted into high gear with a dominant second quarter, playing the entire period and finishing with 14 points, 1 assist and 1 steal on his stat sheet. The halftime break didn't sit well with DeJulius, who ended the third quarter in the negative (-2), with 0 points in the four and a half minutes he spent on the court.
However, DeJulius made up for it—and how!—in a memorable fourth quarter, with eight and a half sublime minutes to seal his team's victory with 13 points, 8 assists and 19 efficiency.
The point guard generated 30 consecutive points in the final quarter between baskets and passes, pushing his final efficiency rating to a personal-best 38, earning him Player of the Day for Matchday 26.
In total, DeJulius finished the game with 31 points, going 3-for-4 from the free throw line, 8-for-11 from two-point range and 4-for-6 from three-point range. Additionally, his Liga Endesa record of 11 assists allows him to enter an extremely exclusive club.
In the entire history of the competition, only Drazen Petrovic (34-10 in 1989), Tharon Mayes (32-10 in 1995), Andre Turner (34-10 in 1997) and Juan Carlos Navarro (31-10 in 2012) had achieved more than 30 points and 10 assists in a single game.
The Detroit native caps off his magical week, after scoring 41 points with 43 efficiency in European competition, accumulating 72 points, 17 assists and 82 efficiency in his last two games with UCAM Murcia.
DeJulius, who rises to 4th place in the race for Liga Endesa's leading scorer for 2025-26, earns his third Player of the Day nomination with this honor, having previously won on Matchday 3 (27 efficiency against La Laguna Tenerife) and Matchday 23 (33 against BAXI Manresa).
