Dmytro Skapintsev to be Leyma Coruña's Interior Anchor in Liga Endesa

Leyma Coruña completes its interior game with the arrival of Dmytro Skapintsev (Cherkasy, Ukraine, 1998). The 2.16-meter center is an international with the Ukrainian national team from youth categories through his debut with the senior squad at EuroBasket 2022.

His basketball beginnings took place in the youth academy of SK Cherkasy Monkeys, his hometown team where he developed until the 2021-2022 season, when he joined BC Kyiv Basket. In both clubs he competed in the EuroCup, playing a significant role in both that competition and the league, which opened the doors for him to make the jump across the ocean and join the G League, first with the Westchester Knicks during the 2022-2024 seasons and later with the Maine Celtics and Rip City Remix. He also competed in the NBA Summer League with the New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers. This past season he played for Hapoel Jerusalem, winning the league title and also competing in the EuroCup, where he averaged 5.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 0.5 assists.

Dmytro is a center who will help significantly on the defensive end due to his ability to contest opposing players' shots and his excellent positioning in the paint thanks to his physical attributes. He is a very good pick-and-roll player with quick movements for his height. Additionally, he has a good touch from outside, including three-point range.

Welcome to the club and to A Coruña, Dmytro!
