Fitness First Wurzburg Baskets await Joventut on Tuesday in the third matchday (19h, Tectake Arena). A win would position the team perfectly in the race for the top two spots in the group
Club Joventut Badalona is performing flawlessly in the BCL, becoming the first team in history to win the first eight games of the competition. Now they want to continue their strong European form in Tuesday's away trip to Fitness First Wurzburg Baskets (19h). A victory would leave the team at 3-0 and in an excellent position heading into the quarterfinals.
Joventut comes off wins against Elan Chalon (+32) and Unicaja (+5), and will face Wurzburg Basket, a team that despite losing their first two games, competed evenly in both. The team's objective, as explained by Aleix Duran, is to maintain this trajectory: "With the BCL we've been achieving the objectives we set for ourselves. We're in an unbeatable position and we must continue with the good feelings in the Champions League to play a strong game. Now we want to qualify for the quarterfinals as soon as possible, and the sooner the better. We can say we're on the right path."
Marcus Carr (17.1 points) and Davion Mintz (15.6) are the scoring leaders for the German team, which always competes well: "They're a serious team, well-constructed. They have the right players to compete well, with good perimeter shooters and solid scorers. They have physical centers, and they play with good physicality. We saw them against Málaga and in France, so this should put us on alert to give our maximum as we have done and try to win the game."
