Brandon Jefferson (Flower Mound, Texas, United States, 1991) reinforces Dreamland Gran Canaria for the rest of the season. The American point guard arrives from Greek side AS Karditsas, the team with which he completed the regular phase of the Greek competition last Saturday the 25th.
After developing at Metropolitan State University of Denver in NCAA Division II, he began his professional career in the 2013/14 season playing for KTP Basket Kotka in Finland. After one campaign there and another at German side Phoenix Hagen, he played in the competitive Adriatic League and EuroLeague with Slovenian club KK Union Olimpija in the 2016/17 season.
Jefferson has played for eight other teams since then: Trapani, Orléans, Strasbourg, Pau-Orthez, Tianjin Pioneers, Dinamo Sassari, JL Bourg Basket, and AS Karditsas. Throughout his career he has stood out for his scoring ability, averaging 17.2 points with Strasbourg or 18.6 points in the Chinese league.
This current season he played for the Greek squad in the domestic competition, averaging 15.3 points, 3.7 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game. The last game he played with AS Karditsas was this past Saturday, contributing 12 points and 4 assists in a defeat that ended the season for the Thessaly region team. He also averaged 15.7 points and 4.8 assists in 13 games in the Basketball Champions League.
The player is expected to arrive in Gran Canaria in the coming days to place himself under the orders of head coach Néstor García.
