Fuenlabrada Launches Project with Belgrade on the Horizon

Iñaki Martín's team will begin preparations for the 2026/27 Primera FEB season starting Monday, August 24.

After a summer marked by moments of uncertainty at the Fernando Martín, the club has made several announcements that surprised its fans. Preseason will kick off with the traditional friendlies and the Festival Tournament as the team's presentation at the Fernando Martín. In the club's official statement, they revealed that on the 24th fans will be able to see new faces: "It will be a day of meetings, reunions, and introductions. Flexicar Fuenlabrada has set Monday, August 24 as the start date of the new campaign." They also confirmed that players will undergo medical and physical testing during this period.

However, this season has something extra special. The club's management has also secured the team's travel to Belgrade to play in the AdmiralBet outdoor tournament at Kalemegdan Fortress on September 11-13. This was confirmed on KK Partizan's official social media accounts. Although, according to what we've learned, some details still need to be finalized and will be announced through Baloncesto Fuenlabrada's social media in the coming days.

These announcements have made a very positive impression on the club's fans. However, they have also questioned the current roster, as it currently only has six names: Mateo Díaz, Vítor Benite, Romaric Belemene, Iván Cruz, Jorge Bilbao, and Javier López. We have been able to confirm that the team will announce three more signings this week, although the management's goal is to close the roster with 10 professional players.

The players arriving at the Fernando Martín will strengthen the shooting guard, small forward, and center positions, bringing players with extensive experience and others less experienced in the category, but with great physical ability to attack the rim and help in the paint.

With these new additions, Iñaki Martín's team will return to the court on Monday, August 24. We'll see if they're able to secure the tenth player they're looking for to complete the roster before the season begins. The season will kick off on Saturday, September 26 against HLA Alicante at the Pedro Ferrándiz Pavilion, where they will face off against Daniel Manchón, the former team captain from last season. The Fuenlabrada team's first home game at the Fernando Martín will be on Saturday, October 3 against the promotion favorites, Club Baloncesto Gran Canaria.
