Dubai Basketball continues building an ambitious project ahead of its EuroLeague arrival. The club has announced the signing of Elie Okobo, who has signed a multi-year contract after four seasons with AS Monaco.
The 28-year-old French combo guard, standing 1.91 meters tall, arrives after a solid stint in the Principality. With Monaco, he competed in two EuroLeague Final Fours and won three French league titles, establishing himself as one of the continent's most dangerous perimeter scorers.
Last season, he averaged 11.2 points and 4.9 assists in 42 EuroLeague games, reaching his best mark as a playmaker. In the French league, he was also one of the great offensive references, with 17 points and 4.5 assists per game, in a season in which Monaco won all possible domestic titles.
Okobo is a player designed to create advantages. He can score from three-point range, punish from mid-range, break down defenses off the dribble, and create for teammates in pick-and-roll situations. An electric profile with scoring and court vision that significantly elevates Dubai's perimeter game.
The Frenchman is familiar with the EuroLeague after his stints with ASVEL and Monaco, and also has NBA experience with the Phoenix Suns, where he played 108 games. Now he opens a new chapter with Dubai, which continues adding proven talent to compete from day one.
