Monbus Obradoiro, Alba Berlin, Kosner Baskonia and Valencia Basket will turn the Pontevedra capital into the focus of national and European basketball on September 11 and 12. Online ticket sales at ataquilla.com and www.adcencestarias.com will begin this Saturday, August 1, at 9:00 AM.
The EncestaRías Tournament continues to grow and achieves what seemed impossible once again. The eleventh edition will bring together on September 11 and 12 in Pontevedra Monbus Obradoiro, Alba Berlin, Kosner Baskonia and Valencia Basket, an extraordinary lineup that will allow fans in the Pontevedra capital to enjoy some of the best teams in national and European basketball.
EncestaRías works its magic again. In an increasingly demanding calendar conditioned by the commitments of national and international competitions, the tournament manages to bring clubs accustomed to competing for major titles back to Pontevedra. The joint presence of the German champions, the Liga ACB champions and the Copa del Rey champions, accompanied by a recently promoted Monbus Obradoiro, confirms the exceptional nature of an event that continues to make progress with each edition.
Online ticket and season pass sales for both days will begin this Saturday, August 1, starting at 9:00 AM. Fans will be able to secure their attendance from that moment at one of the major preseason events, which will once again bring several of the best teams from the national and continental landscape to Pontevedra.
The organization will establish three price tiers based on age, with adult, youth and children categories. Season passes to enjoy both days will cost 60, 40 and 15 euros, respectively. Day tickets will cost 35 euros for adults, 25 for youth and 10 euros for children.
Courtside tickets will also go on sale for those who want to experience the spectacle from their own seat and just meters away from some of Europe's best players. An especially attractive experience to enjoy from a privileged position of the tournament's four games.
Physical ticket sales will begin Wednesday, August 5 at three locations: La Petite Boutique in Santiago; Mobu Deportes in Vilagarcía; and Goleada in Pontevedra. At these points you can also purchase the special Four Friends pass, which will allow you to get four adult passes for a total price of 200 euros.
Monbus Obradoiro will be the fixed and essential Galician representation on the lineup. The Santiago-based team will face the tournament after achieving their return to the Liga ACB and will have the opportunity to test their new project against three top-tier opponents. Their participation also strengthens EncestaRías' bond with Galician basketball and will allow their fans to enjoy very close to home one of the first major challenges of the season.
One of the main novelties will be the presence of Alba Berlin, German champions and one of the clubs with the greatest tradition on the continent. The German team will replace Río Breogán, which has been forced to withdraw due to its European commitments. The Basketball Champions League draw requires the Lugo-based team to travel to Bulgaria during that same weekend, making their presence in Pontevedra impossible.
The organization reacted to this setback by incorporating another continental reference and further elevating the international dimension of the tournament. The arrival of Alba Berlin once again demonstrates EncestaRías' ability to overcome difficulties and keep the quality of a lineup intact that will once again put Pontevedra on the map of European basketball.
Alongside the German team will be Kosner Baskonia, defending Copa del Rey champions and one of the founding clubs of the EuroLeague. The Vitoria-based team, a regular among Spain's basketball elite, will compete once again alongside Europe's best teams and will arrive in Pontevedra with the demands and ambitions of an entity accustomed to fighting for all titles.
The fourth privilege in the form of a team will be Valencia Basket, defending EncestaRías Tournament champions and Spanish league champions. The Valencia team will return after having a historic season. Following their time in Pontevedra in the previous edition, they won the Liga ACB and qualified for the EuroLeague Final Four, held in Athens, where they played one of the semifinals. Their return will allow the public to once again enjoy the current dominant force in Spanish basketball and one of the main continental references.
The pairings and times for the semifinals are already set. On Friday, September 11, Kosner Baskonia and Alba Berlin will open the competition at 7:00 PM. Next, at 9:15 PM, will come the matchup between Monbus Obradoiro and Valencia Basket. On Saturday, September 12, the third and fourth place game will be played at 6:00 PM, while the grand final will begin at 8:30 PM. In total, there will be four matches of genuine quality available not only to basketball fans, but also to all sports enthusiasts.
The growth of EncestaRías will not be limited to the professional tournament. The eleventh edition will incorporate for the first time EncestaRising, a parallel competition aimed at the boys' and girls' mini-basketball category. Sixteen teams from throughout the province and other areas will have the opportunity to play in Pontevedra and feel part of an event that aims to bring elite basketball closer to grassroots and turn the city into a great basketball celebration.
The willingness of clubs to participate in EncestaRising has been absolute from the start. The organization already has a waiting list in both categories to fill any possible vacancies. The high number of applications demonstrates the tournament's ability to attract interest and the interest of numerous clubs in being present in Pontevedra and being part of the EncestaRías experience.
The project will be completed with EncestaRías Women, which will be held on September 18 in Vilagarcía. The men's professional tournament, the new mini-basketball competition and the women's event will form a broader and more ambitious schedule, reflecting a brand that continues to evolve and open new spaces within basketball.
EncestaRías will thus face its eleventh edition as much more than a preseason tournament. Its ability to bring together clubs of such prestige once again makes the extraordinary possible: that for two days Pontevedra is the great focus of national and European basketball and that fans can watch live, in the same venue, several of the continent's best teams.
