EuroLeague continues growing at an unprecedented pace. The competition closed its 2025/26 regular season breaking all historical records in television viewership, social media, and arena attendance, confirming the massive expansion moment European basketball is experiencing.
The competition surpassed 508 million cumulative television viewers, reached over 1.4 billion video views on social media for the first time, and drew more than 3.25 million fans in the stands throughout the regular season.
These figures solidify EuroLeague as one of the major sporting competitions on the international landscape and reflect the tournament's global growth in recent years.
Television Viewership Record
Television viewership was one of the major drivers of growth. During the first 25 matchdays of the regular season, EuroLeague reached 122.8 million viewers across live and delayed broadcasts, representing an 82% increase compared to the same period last season.
Growth was particularly significant in several key markets. The Balkans led the surge with a spectacular 103% increase, while Italy and Israel grew 77% and 76%, respectively. France also registered a notable 23% increase, while Turkey and Spain improved their figures by 16% and 10%.
Additionally, Germany managed to maintain its cumulative viewership despite having one fewer representative in the competition this season.
In global terms, combined viewership across live games, delayed broadcasts, and highlights consumption increased 8%, reaching 508.17 million viewers.
Social Media Explosion
EuroLeague's digital expansion also delivered historic figures. For the first time, the combined ecosystem of the competition and its participating clubs reached 47.1 million followers on social media.
EuroLeague's official platforms also surpassed the one billion video views barrier, closing the regular season with 1.490 billion video plays and over 3 billion impressions.
Growth compared to the 2021/22 season reflects the competition's massive digital acceleration:
Total Reach: +215%
Impressions: +478%
Video Views: +1,067%
Interactions: +319%
Followers: +80%
EuroLeague highlights that all its official platforms—Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube—have experienced two and even three-digit increases in virtually all key metrics over the past several seasons.
All-Time High Arena Attendance
Arena attendance also reached a new all-time high. A total of 3,251,706 fans attended regular season games, far surpassing the previous season's records.
The figure represents an increase of 232,652 more spectators compared to last season, representing 8% growth.
The competition itself acknowledges that the figure could have been even higher, as several clubs had to play games away from their home venues, with capacity limitations or even behind closed doors due to external circumstances.
Despite this, EuroLeague once again demonstrated the enormous appeal it generates across Europe and the consistent growth of its product both on and off the court.
