EuroLeague: Andi Obst Extends with Bayern Munich Through 2029

FC Bayern Munich has secured the continuity of one of the key figures in its project by announcing the renewal of Andi Obst, who has signed a long-term contract with the German club through the end of the 2028-29 season.

The 29-year-old German shooting guard is having the best season of his career in the EuroLeague, averaging 15.5 points per game across 27 games. Since joining Bayern in the 2021-22 season, Obst has competed in every campaign in Europe's top competition with the Bavarian club, establishing himself as one of the continent's most dangerous shooters.

The player himself expressed his satisfaction with staying in Munich:
"I'm very, very happy to stay at Bayern, because Munich has also become my home over the last five years. I feel very comfortable here. The club has done everything possible to keep me and I'm very grateful for that. We still have a lot to accomplish and I want to achieve even more with this team," Obst told the club's official media.

Recognized especially for his perimeter shooting ability, Obst set a EuroLeague record by making 11 three-pointers against FC Barcelona on November 22, 2024. This season he has surpassed five three-pointers in a game on six occasions, including nine against Crvena Zvezda, eight against Maccabi Tel Aviv, and seven against Baskonia.

Beyond his outside shooting, the German shooting guard has expanded his overall impact on the game: he has 49 two-point baskets, has drawn 78 fouls—personal highs—and is on pace to record his best numbers in rebounds and assists, with a total PIR of 347, also a career high.

With this renewal, Bayern guarantees the continuity of one of the deadliest shooters in European basketball and strengthens the foundation of its long-term EuroLeague project.
