abr 06 2026VITORIA-GASTEIZ — Kosner Baskonia (11-24) faces a tough challenge on Matchday 36 of the EuroLeague regular season as they host Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv (18-16), one of the hottest teams in the competition and continuing to push for a top-10 finish.
The Israeli side arrives in excellent form after winning eight of their last nine games, most recently against Anadolu Efes, a matchup in which Lonnie Walker was decisive with 25 points. During their current four-game winning streak, Maccabi has displayed strong offensive potential, averaging 93.5 points per game.
Baskonia, however, proved last week that they remain a dangerous opponent after securing a dramatic victory over Real Madrid. In that game, Kobi Simmons stood out with 21 points, his career-high, and will look to maintain that level against Maccabi's in-form point guard Jimmy Clark, who arrives averaging 18.7 points and 8.7 assists over his last three games.
One of the main challenges for the Vitoria-based team will be their defensive performance. Baskonia currently has the worst defense in the EuroLeague, allowing 93.6 points per game, so they will need another strong showing from their leading scorer Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, who averages 18.3 points, to compete against a rival going through one of their best stretches of the season.
