EuroLeague: French Derby Between Paris Basketball and ASVEL in Search of Momentum

Matchday 31 of the EuroLeague will feature a local flavor clash when Paris Basketball hosts LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne this Thursday at 21:00 in another French derby within the continental competition.

Paris arrives at the matchup with a record of 11-18 and faces its second consecutive home game during the week, with the objective of taking advantage of the home-court factor to continue accumulating wins in the final stretch of the season.

Facing them will be an ASVEL team that, despite occupying last place with an 8-22 record, comes off a prestigious road victory against Anadolu Efes S.K., demonstrating that the team has not given up in this final stretch of the season.

In that triumph, Braian Angola shone especially bright, signed mid-season and the protagonist of a 26-point performance that earned him recognition as Matchday 30's MVP.

Another key player in that matchup was Thomas Heurtel, who contributed 14 points and 7 assists and will be part of one of the interesting individual battles of the game against Paris' point guard, Justin Robinson.

The matchup also promises spectacle from beyond the arc. Glynn Watson Jr. and Nadir Hifi will star in an interesting scoring duel following their strong performances in the first meeting between both teams this season. In that game, played in December, ASVEL won 94-89, with 28 points from Watson and 26 from Hifi.

With pride on the line in this French derby, both teams will seek a victory that allows them to close out the season with better feelings in the EuroLeague.
