abr 17 2026ZARAGOZA — Fenerbahce Opet confirmed its favorite status and defeated Spar Girona 76-59 to advance to the EuroLeague Women final. The Turkish team will play for the title for the seventh time in its history and the fourth time in the last five editions.
The Spanish team competed during the opening of the match, but Fenerbahce's superior roster depth and offensive talent ultimately made the difference. After an even start, the Turkish squad found its rhythm before halftime and broke open the game with a 16-5 run that allowed them to build a double-digit lead.
From that point on, Spar Girona was always playing catch-up. Fenerbahce controlled the scoreboard in the second half and did not allow a rival comeback, supported by its balanced inside-outside game and a deeper rotation.
Emma Meesseman was one of the standout performers in the victory with 14 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds, while Klara Holm delivered an impressive performance in Girona with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists.
The numbers reflected Turkish superiority. Fenerbahce shot 39% from three-point range, while Girona finished at 26% after going 7 of 27. Additionally, the Catalan team committed 20 turnovers, compared to just 9 for their opponent.
Fenerbahce now awaits its opponent in the final, which will come from the matchup between Casademont Zaragoza and Galatasaray. Meanwhile, Spar Girona will compete for third place, with the possibility of capping off the best continental season in its history with a medal.
