Fenerbahce is making aggressive moves in the transfer market with several high-level operations underway to strengthen its roster for the upcoming season. The Turkish club is close to finalizing the signing of Shavon Shields, formerly of Armani Milan and previously linked to FC Barcelona. According to BasketNews, the small forward would sign a two-year deal with the Istanbul club.
The activity doesn't stop there. Fenerbahce will also bring in Braxton Key, the recent Liga Endesa champion with Valencia Basket, in a move to add physicality, versatility and defensive capability on the wing positions. At the same time, the club is working on signing center Marcus Bingham, coming from UNICS Kazan, an interior player set to strengthen the rotation near the basket.
The big target, however, could be Shane Larkin. Fenerbahce wants to pry the point guard away from Anadolu Efes, in a move of enormous impact within Turkish and European basketball. His arrival would be a direct blow to their eternal rival and would further elevate the team's offensive potential.
With Shields, Key, Bingham and the possible move for Larkin, Fenerbahce is making it clear that it wants to build a maximum-level roster to compete for all the titles.
