Besiktas Istanbul continues building its roster for its EuroLeague debut, officially announcing the signing of Furkan Korkmaz, Turkish international and former NBA player.
The wing arrives from Tofas Bursa, where he played during the 2025/26 season after previously competing for Anadolu Efes, Philadelphia 76ers, AS Monaco, and Bahcesehir. His addition represents an important reinforcement for Besiktas's perimeter, bringing offensive talent, international experience, and a player with a track record at the highest level.
Korkmaz was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 26th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft and appeared in 328 regular season games in the American league, averaging 6.8 points, 2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists.
Following his departure from the NBA, he returned to Europe in 2024 with AS Monaco, though his stint with the Monegasque club was brief. Now, at 28 years old, he returns to elite competition with Besiktas, which continues strengthening its roster with prominent names to compete from day one.
