The 40th edition of the Copa Xunta Senior Men's tournament will take place on September 5-6 at the Multiusos Fontes do Sar in Santiago de Compostela, with Galicia's four top basketball representatives competing for the title.
The Galicia Cup basketball tournament has finalized its matchups. The draw held this Friday at the Pazo de San Lourenzo in Santiago set up highly attractive semifinals for a specially marked edition, the 40th of the competition.
The tournament will begin on Saturday, September 5, at 6:00 p.m., with the matchup between Leyma Coruña and Club Ourense Baloncesto. Two and a half hours later, at 8:30 p.m., one of the weekend's main attractions will take place: the derby between Monbus Obradoiro and Río Breogán.
The winners of both semifinals will meet in the grand final, scheduled for Sunday, September 6, starting at 7:00 p.m., also at the Multiusos Fontes do Sar.
Santiago will once again become the center of Galician basketball during a weekend that brings together four of the community's most representative clubs and will serve, moreover, as an important preseason test before the start of official competitions.
