Obras Defeats Ferro to Even Women's League Finals Series

Obras beat Ferro 62-56 in a game marked by nerves, fear, and anxiety. With this victory, Obras forced a third and final game in the series to crown the champion. Candela Gentinetta was the leading scorer with 16 points at home. The decisive game will be played Saturday afternoon in Argentina.

The opening mirrored Game 1, with Ferro struggling offensively and lacking clarity while Obras capitalized, building a 10-3 lead that forced Gabriel Fernández to call a timeout with 7 minutes remaining. The entry of Piri and Carra for the visitors changed the dynamic, but they still lacked team cohesion. A quick run brought them within one at 12-11. Javier Iemini called a timeout for Obras. Despite Flor Chagas failing to score and Ferro's attempts to equalize, Obras closed the quarter stronger at 20-17.

The home team was more composed at the start of the second quarter and capitalized. They tightened their defense and Ferro continued making offensive mistakes. Obras extended their lead to 27-19, prompting the visiting coach to call a timeout midway through the quarter. Nothing changed. Foresta won the matchup against Piri. Ferro managed to close the quarter within six at 49-43.

Obras' field goal drought ended with a layup by Chagas in the first minute of the fourth quarter. Ferro's players came out very anxious. They took several shots without success, but Piri opened the floor with a three-pointer and two baskets by Florencia Fernández brought the visitors within one at 51-50.
With one minute remaining, the score was tied at 58-56 in favor of the home team.

Piri had a chance to tie with a layup but missed. In response, Chagas drove to the basket and scored, leaving 39 seconds and a 60-56 lead. On the ensuing possession, Baccarelli tried to penetrate and Ferro secured the offensive rebound twice with Flor Fernández. However, on the second attempt, the referees called an offensive foul. Gabriel Fernández protested the call and was ejected on a double technical. Flor Chagas made both free throws to seal the 62-56 victory and even the finals series.
