Isaiah Hartenstein Signs Three-Year Extension with Oklahoma City Thunder

Oklahoma City Thunder continues securing key pieces of its championship project. According to Shams Charania, Isaiah Hartenstein has agreed to a three-year, $75 million contract extension with the franchise, keeping him with the team through the 2028-29 season.

The continuity of the German center aligns with the Thunder's roadmap as they seek to maintain stability with the core that led them to win the NBA championship in 2025. Hartenstein arrived in Oklahoma City in the summer of 2024 and quickly became an important player thanks to his interior presence, rebounding, court vision, and ability to provide solid defense on both ends of the floor.

With this extension, the center will increase the total value of his time in OKC to five years and $134 million guaranteed. The deal also includes a 15% trade bonus—the maximum allowed—and a mutual renegotiation option in 2028 before facing the final year of the contract.

The move confirms the Thunder's full confidence in Hartenstein, a player who has fit perfectly into a young, competitive roster built to remain in contention for the championship in the coming years.
