Jaime Pradilla Chooses Real Madrid, Leaves Valencia Basket

Real Madrid has secured one of the most important domestic moves of the summer. Jaime Pradilla has decided to accept the white club's proposal and, barring any unexpected developments in his medical examination, will sign a long-term contract with the Madrid club through 2031.

The deal will be completed through the payment of his release clause, set at around €1.5 million. The Aragonese player had an active contract with Valencia Basket and also received a significant offer to extend his stay at La Fonteta, but has chosen to move on and join Real Madrid's new project.

His arrival carries several implications for Real Madrid. On one hand, it brings in a Spanish domestic player who is also capped by Spain and still has room to grow. On the other, it strengthens a key position with a player who knows the ACB perfectly and can provide continuity for many years to come. Additionally, Pradilla will work again with head coach Pedro Martínez, with whom he previously worked at Valencia.

The 25-year-old power forward is leaving the orange club after establishing himself as one of the most interesting Spanish pieces in the competition. He would have also received strong offers from outside Spain, but his decision is to remain in the ACB and make the jump to one of the continent's top projects.

For Valencia Basket, his departure represents another blow during a summer of deep reconstruction. Pradilla's exit joins those of several other important names and confirms a changing of the guard in the orange squad heading into the next season.
