James Wiseman Eyes European Move After NBA Exit

James Wiseman is preparing a significant career shift. The American center, the 2nd overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, will continue his career in Europe, according to an announcement from his agent Misko Raznatovic.

The representative confirmed that the decision has been made and that they have begun exploring options in the European market to find the best possible destination for the player. Wiseman, 2.13 meters tall, was selected by the Golden State Warriors just behind Anthony Edwards in that Draft, but never fully established himself in the NBA as expected.

The big man comes off a 2025/26 season with minimal playing time at the Indiana Pacers. He appeared in just 4 games, one as a starter, averaging 3.3 points, 2 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 14.5 minutes per game. Very modest numbers for a player who arrived in the league with enormous expectations.

His NBA career was marked by injury issues, lack of continuity and several team changes. After stints with the Warriors, Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers, Wiseman will now seek to revitalize his career in a different context.

Wiseman's arrival in Europe could become one of the most notable moves of the summer. His athleticism, size and ability near the basket remain highly attractive, though the major challenge will be adapting to European basketball, where tactical knowledge, positional defense and game reading carry enormous weight.

For now there is no deal in place, but Wiseman's name is firmly in the continental market. A former NBA Draft 2nd overall pick seeking a second chance on the other side of the Atlantic.
