Jared Butler Extends with Estrella Roja Through 2028

Estrella Roja has officially announced the contract extension of Jared Butler through 2028. The American point guard will continue in Belgrade after becoming one of the team's most important pieces in his first EuroLeague season.

Butler joined the Serbian club in October 2025 after several stints in the NBA and quickly earned significant playing time. His offensive impact was immediate, providing scoring, playmaking, and the ability to create advantages off the dribble.

Last season in EuroLeague, he posted 13.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and a 10.8 efficiency rating in 32 games. Additionally, he shot 51.4% from two-point range and 36.4% from three-point range, numbers that explain why the club wanted to secure his long-term future.

Jared Butler's extension is also important news for Ibon Navarro, Estrella Roja's new head coach, who will have an experienced wing already adapted to the club and familiar with high-pressure competition.

Before arriving in Europe, Butler played for the Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder, Washington Wizards, Philadelphia 76ers, and Phoenix Suns. In the NBA, he appeared in 148 games, averaging 6.7 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.

With this move, Estrella Roja retains one of its key perimeter players and strengthens the stability of its project for the coming seasons.
