SAN FRANCISCO — Jaylen Brown led the Boston Celtics with 23 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists in the NBA to defeat the Golden State Warriors 121-110 without Stephen Curry, in a game that confirmed the Eastern Conference team's strong form.
Brown, the leading scorer in the Eastern Conference before the All-Star break, recorded his third triple-double of the season and the fifth of his career. He matched his best rebounding mark—15 boards, all defensive—and set a new career high with 13 assists. He was one of eight Boston players to score in the first quarter, in which he added eight points.
The visiting team took control after an even start. In the second quarter, the Celtics unleashed a 17-2 run that broke the game open. Boston repeatedly punished the paint and extended the lead to a commanding 74-51 at halftime.
Payton Pritchard added 26 points and Sam Hauser contributed 16 to bolster a collective performance that allowed the Celtics to reach a maximum advantage of 30 points. Golden State responded in the final period and cut the deficit to 111-99 following a dunk by Gary Payton II with six minutes remaining. However, Pritchard answered with two consecutive three-pointers that neutralized the comeback attempt.
The Warriors faced the game without Stephen Curry, a two-time NBA MVP, sidelined by a knee injury. Golden State has a record of 6-11 this season in games played without its star. On offense, De'Anthony Melton led with 18 points, while Will Richard and Gui Santos each added 17. Kristaps Porzingis, in his debut with Golden State after being acquired from Atlanta at the trade deadline, finished with 12 points after playing 99 games and winning a championship in his two seasons with Boston.
With this victory, Boston extends its winning streak to seven wins in their last eight games and reinforces its positive momentum in the NBA, maintaining competitive form following the All-Star break.
