JD Notae Emerges as Manresa Option Pending Medical Clearance

Kids&Us Manresa has identified JD Notae as a target to strengthen their perimeter game. The deal remains contingent on the player passing his medical examination, according to reports from journalists

and .

The American shooting guard arrives as a free agent after three seasons with Trapani Shark, where he has established himself as one of the most prolific scorers in Italian basketball.

Numbers That Explain the Interest

His most recent campaign confirmed his European credentials. In the Basketball Champions League, he averaged 20 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists, leading his team in scoring and efficiency rating with 19 on average. He was also Trapani's leading scorer in Serie A, with nearly 20 points per game.

His best continental performance came in December against Tofas Bursa: 27 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and three steals for a rating of 26, a team record in the competition that season. He also made an impact in Spain with a decisive performance in Trapani's victory over La Laguna Tenerife, which halted the Canary Islands team's winning streak.

From the NCAA to Italian Elite

At 27 years old and 1.88 meters tall, Notae developed at Jacksonville and Arkansas, where he was named SEC Sixth Man of the Year in 2021 and All-American in 2022. He went undrafted and began his professional career with Aris Salonica, averaging 15.3 points per game, before joining Trapani in August 2023. In his first Italian season, he posted 17.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists, and in 2025 was named Serie A Sixth Man of the Year.

Filling a Void at Nou Congost

The move has context. Manresa announced in early August the departure of Colby Jones for medical reasons, leaving Diego Ocampo's team with an open roster spot on the perimeter just weeks before the start of preseason.
