Joel Soriano Strengthens Monbus Obradoiro's Interior Game

Por ·

The Dominican international, 2.08 meters tall and 26 years old, arrives in Santiago to reinforce Obradoiro's paint after accumulating experience in the Liga Endesa and European basketball.

Monbus Obradoiro adds Joel Soriano to its roster, a center with great physical capacity who stands out for his rebounding prowess, presence in the paint, and ability to bring energy on both ends of the court.

Born in Yonkers (New York) and a full international with the Dominican Republic, Soriano developed much of his basketball education in American college basketball. After his time at Fordham and St. John's, where he established himself as one of the standout big men in the Big East conference, he began his professional career in the G League and the Puerto Rican league before making the jump to European basketball.

During the last two seasons he competed in the Liga Endesa with Valencia Basket and Casademont Zaragoza, before finishing the past season with German side Ratiopharm Ulm. With the German club he played 12 Bundesliga games, averaging 9.9 points and 4.2 rebounds in 16.6 minutes per game, confirming his ability to make an impact in the paint.

Welcome Joel! We wish you much success in this new chapter in Santiago de Compostela.
