Jonas Valanciunas Admits EuroLeague Interest, Leaves Future in Denver's Hands

Jonas Valanciunas confirmed that several EuroLeague teams have shown interest in signing him this summer, though the veteran Lithuanian center made clear that any decision will depend on the Denver Nuggets' plans regarding his contract.

"I've received interest. There were conversations with one team, another team, and also with the Lithuanian club," Valanciunas explained on the PIKENROLAS program on 15min. The center also noted that he expects his situation to be resolved during the first days of July.

The player holds a contract option worth close to $10 million for the upcoming season and acknowledged that everything hinges on the Colorado franchise's decision. "The final word belongs to Denver," he stated.

Valanciunas also wanted to rule out any scenario of breaking away from the NBA to facilitate a return to Europe. "I signed this contract and I must honor it. I'm not the type of player who is going to get angry with everyone," he commented.

Meanwhile, Zalgiris Kaunas continues to appear as one of the main candidates to secure his services. From Lithuania, they are pointing to a strong two-year guaranteed offer to try to convince the captain of the national team.

Last summer, Valanciunas came very close to returning to the EuroLeague with Panathinaikos, though the operation ultimately fell through after Denver decided to keep him on the roster.
