Jonathan Barreiro and Unicaja will remain together for one more season. The club has exercised the clause to extend the contract of the small forward, meaning the player will complete his sixth year in Málaga.

The Cerceda native joined Unicaja in the 2021-22 season from Casademont Zaragoza. Since then, Jonathan Barreiro has been indispensable to the team in defensive duties and hustle plays, connecting with the Carpena crowd through his commitment and sacrifice.

Over these years he has become the 11th player with the most games in club history (254), very close to the 10th place held by Nacho Rodríguez (258).

In this way, Barreiro, a key piece for the team with which he has won seven titles in recent seasons (two Copa del Rey titles, two BCL titles, two FIBA Intercontinental Cup titles, and one Supercopa Endesa), will remain in Málaga for one more year.
