The San Antonio Spurs have secured Julian Champagnie's future with a three-year, $45 million contract extension through the 2028-29 season, according to Shams Charania.
The Texas franchise declined its $3 million team option on the small forward not to let him walk, but rather to offer him a significantly more lucrative deal and reward his growth within the organization.
The 25-year-old Champagnie just completed the best season of his career. In the 2025-26 campaign, he appeared in all 82 games, averaging 11.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 38.1% from three-point range. He also set a franchise record with 195 three-pointers made in the regular season.
His case is one of the great examples of recent player development in San Antonio. After going undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft and being cut by Philadelphia in 2023, Champagnie found a home with the Spurs and became an important piece thanks to his defense, energy, outside shooting, and ability to play off the ball.
