TENERIFE. Barcelona secured an important Liga Endesa victory, defeating La Laguna Tenerife 97-102 in a crucial matchup for top-of-the-table positioning. The blaugrana extended their dominance over the black-and-gold side, now winning five straight head-to-head matchups, thanks to a dominant first-half offensive display and the leadership of Kevin Punter and Juani Marcos in decisive moments.
The team coached by Xavi Pascual remains fully focused on securing home-court advantage for the quarterfinals despite rumors surrounding the future of the Barcelona head coach.
The game started with Barcelona playing aggressively on offense and showing excellent three-point shooting. Juani Marcos quickly took control of the game's pace and began punishing La Laguna Tenerife from beyond the arc with great efficiency.
The Argentine point guard shined especially during the first half, scoring 11 points with an excellent 3-for-4 from three-point range, leading a Barcelona team that overwhelmed La Laguna Tenerife offensively.

The NBA champion led the black-and-gold comeback and allowed the Tenerife team to progressively close the gap until the end of the third quarter with everything still in play (71-75).
Right at the start of the final period, a three-pointer from Fitipaldo made it 74-75 and put maximum pressure on Barcelona, which saw the halftime advantage beginning to slip away.
But Barcelona reacted with character at the most critical moment of the game. Kevin Punter then took over offensively and ultimately sealed the victory.
The shooting guard scored seven consecutive points in the decisive stretch to definitively break open the game and restore calm to Barcelona at 84-94.
La Laguna Tenerife attempted another comeback in the final minutes, but Xavi Pascual's team managed the closing possessions better and secured a victory of enormous value in the fight for top positioning in the Liga Endesa.
Juani Marcos finished with 18 points on an excellent 4-for-5 from three-point range, while Kevin Punter added 16 crucial points to lead Barcelona to victory.
With this win, Barcelona adds another important victory in the Liga Endesa and remains fully engaged in the battle for home-court advantage in the Playoffs. For their part, La Laguna Tenerife could not complete the comeback despite a strong second-half effort.
