The Vitoria-based team defeats FIATC Girona 118-78 and records two wins in two games, with Sedekerskis and Faried standing out as the top performers (21 rating points each).
Kosner Baskonia steamrolled FIATC Girona this Sunday (118-78) in a matchup where they displayed excellent shooting and confirmed the improvement of Paolo Galbiati's squad in the second round of the Liga Endesa.
The Catalan team looked the Vitoria side in the eye for 15 minutes. From that point on, the Baskonia train overwhelmed the Girona side with large scoring runs to decide the game early.
Up to seven local players surpassed 10 rating points and the accuracy of Chris Duarte definitively broke open the contest.
The flashes from Jassel Pérez and Mac McClung were not enough to keep the visiting team in the game.
Both teams had no trouble scoring in the opening minutes of a matchup with too many defensive lapses.
Errors came when both defenses raised their intensity and aggression, although the entry of Mac McClung offered more offensive options to a very tough Girona side on defense, allowing them to take the first quarter, 20-26.
Paolo Galbiati could not find offensive inspiration in his players, while the visitors scored easily at the home rim with David N'Guessan's scoring.
Outside shooting accuracy and pace changed the dynamics for Baskonia, who went on an 18-3 run with four three-pointers, two from Chris Duarte and two from Márcio Santos, to turn the game around and head into halftime with a 54-42 lead.
Chris Duarte continued his hot shooting after the break and Baskonia was able to extend their lead despite some defensive lapses.
The defensive intensity of the Baskonia players improved and gave them the pace they needed to definitively break open the game before the final quarter, 86-61.
The home team did not let up and opened a lead of over 30 points to confirm the substantial improvement after a shaky start to the season.
The final 118-78 score reflected Baskonia's superiority, who secured their second win in two games, while Moncho Fernández's team suffered their first loss of the season.
