Kwan Cheatham, a Power Forward with Elite Shooting for ASISA Joventut
The American with Italian passport signs one-year deal with Penya
ASISA Joventut and Kwan Cheatham have reached an agreement for the American power forward with Italian passport to wear the green-and-black jersey through June 30, 2027.
Cheatham (Vallejo, California, USA, 08/21/1995) is a 6'9" power forward, 30 years old, who stands out for his ability to score from three-point range, and is a versatile player with excellent athleticism capable of creating advantages both near the basket and from beyond the arc. The new Penya player will bring energy, rebounding, mobility, and a major three-point threat to Dani Miret's squad.
Trained at the University of Akron, the new Penya player began his professional career in Europe, competing in Israel, France, and Italy before arriving in Spanish basketball, where he established himself as one of the most complete big men in the league. Cheatham arrives in Badalona after two seasons with Reggio Emilia in the Italian Serie A, where he averaged 11.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and shot 36.4% from three-point range.
The American has Liga Endesa experience after defending the jerseys of Baloncesto Fuenlabrada and Coviran Granada, accumulating three seasons and 84 official games. Over these three campaigns, Cheatham posted an impressive 38.8% from three-point range with high volume: 2.2 three-pointers per game on average. In his last ACB season, Cheatham recorded 13 points, 5.1 rebounds, and a notable 37% three-point shooting percentage, figures that demonstrate his ability to space the floor and punish opposing defenses from the perimeter.
An intense player on both ends of the court with the ability to run in transition, switch on defense, and provide rebounding stability, Cheatham fits perfectly with ASISA Joventut's competitive identity and playing style.
