Verge and the Paint Turn the Game Around

The fourth quarter was completely different. Leyma tightened its passing lanes, Tenerife stopped finding easy shots, and Verge took control of every possession, sometimes scoring on penetration and other times finding his big men inside. George Conditt and Kārlis Šiliņš capitalized on every opportunity near the basket. A 29-16 run flipped a game that seemed lost.

The difference was also on the boards. The Coruña team grabbed 44 rebounds to Tenerife's 28, and Lukas Uleckas posted a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds that kept his team strong at both ends. With just six three-pointers made, Leyma won the game inside: 27 of 42 from two-point range.

An Unexpected Stumble for Tenerife

Lakovic's team came in hot after their EuroCup victory over Reyer Venezia and had dominated Monbus Obradoiro in the previous matchday. This time their outside shooting wasn't enough: the three-pointer kept them ahead for three quarters, but they had no answer when Leyma won the paint. Despite the loss, Tenerife remains in the upper part of the standings.
