Lonnie Walker Returns to NBA with Denver Nuggets

Lonnie Walker IV is back in the NBA. The shooting guard has agreed to a one-year deal worth $3.3 million with the Denver Nuggets, according to Shams Charania

The move cuts off, at least for now, the possibility of seeing him return to Europe. Walker had played for Maccabi Tel Aviv following his last NBA stint in the 2024-25 season, and his name had been linked with several major European market teams, including Real Madrid.

Denver offers him a clear path: a short-term contract, a return to the league, and an opportunity to earn minutes on a competitive team. He doesn't arrive as a primary option, but rather as a shooting guard with scoring ability, athleticism, and the capacity to open up games from the second unit.

Walker left a positive impression during his time at Maccabi. In the EuroLeague, he averaged 15.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists, shooting 35.1% from three-point range—numbers that kept him on the NBA radar throughout the summer.

For the Nuggets, it's a reasonable bet on both price and profile. A 27-year-old player with league experience and immediate scoring ability. For Walker, a new opportunity in his eighth NBA season after using Europe as a competitive showcase.

The European market loses an important option. Denver lands a shooting guard who still has plenty to offer and arrives with something that always commands value: scoring.
